Designing for a client that is building an architecturally designed home and is willing to take some creative risk in the garden is a great privilege.   This garden comprised a number of small courtyard spaces.  The clients are gardeners and have two very well loved dogs, so our challenge was to maintain enough hard surfaces for entertaining and living, while still allowing space for it to have an interesting and layered planting. We used some creative detail to enhance the sense of space and maximize the aesthetic outcome.
